Develop gender-based methodologies and conduct research to address the feminisation of poverty .

ACTIVITIES OF THE POVERTY COMMISSION, NCWO

Some of these activities include the following :

To set up a half way house as a transitional place for battered women to stay after leaving the crisis centre whilst adapting themselves to living independently.
An important component needed in the progression from being victims of domestic violence to survivors of domestic violence is independence.
Hence for their own protection and safety, these women who have made a decision to live independently usually if they have children they will take their children with them to the half way house.
To work with AIM to reach marginalized women especially the women-headed families, single mothers to provide them with income generating skills, and projects to raise their standard of living.

To carry out a survey among the NGOs and government departments that have projects and programmes for poverty
